Saturday's Small Forward Value Rankings
Here are the small forward value rankings for Saturday, December 12 (the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets was omitted due to the early start time):
Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Carmelo Anthony (NY) | at POR | 10 |
Paul George (IND) | at DET | 9 |
Otto Porter (WAS) | at DAL | 9 |
Kent Bazemore (ATL) | vs. SA | 8 |
Though the Trail Blazers have defended opposing small forward quite well this season, Anthony is coming off a 23-point, 14-rebound performance against the Sacramento Kings, and he continues to play well with PF Kristaps Porzingis. This should be a tight-scoring game, and Anthony will need to be the X-factor for the Knicks.
Porter will continue to play an expanded role if Bradley Beal remains sidelined Saturday. He has two double-doubles in his past three games, and 10-plus points in four straight.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) | vs. GS | 7 |
Corey Brewer (HOU) | vs. LAL | 7 |
Marcus Thornton (HOU) | vs. LAL | 6 |
Jae Crowder (BOS) | at CHA | 6 |
Al-Farouq Aminu (POR) | vs. NY | 6 |
Antetokounmpo leads a mediocre middle tier. He isn't an elite producer in any one category, but he's able to fill out a well-rounded stat sheet. Brewer and Thornton take away from each other's upside, but they should receive fairly even playing time in a cake walk against the Lakers.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Marcus Morris (DET) | vs. IND | 5 |
P.J. Hairston (CHA) | vs. BOS | 5 |
Thabo Sefolosha (ATL) | vs. SA | 5 |
Dante Cunningham (NO) | at CHI | 5 |
Solomon Hill (IND) | at DET | 5 |
There isn't much upside in this tier, but most players are able to reach their respective floors with some regularity. Hill actually has the most upside, but he also faces the most uncertainty due to volatile playing time.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Kawhi Leonard (SA) | at ATL | 4 |
Andre Iguodala (GS) | at MIL | 4 |
Jared Dudley (WAS) | at DAL | 3 |
Chandler Parsons (DAL) | vs. WAS | 3 |
C.J. Miles (IND) | at DET | 2 |
Leonard put up a disappointing 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal stat line in 27 minutes against the Toronto Raptors Wednesday. He'll be a contrarian choice in GPPs, but he can be avoided in cash games. Dudley hasn't taken advantage of increased playing time, and Parsons continually fails to make an impact.
