- After a rib injury derailed their proposed first meeting at UFC 189, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are finally set to square off (knock on wood) at UFC 194 in the most anticipated bout of the year. McGregor earned the interim 145-pound strap with a stirring come-from-behind TKO victory over Chad Mendes.
- Mendes will look to bounce back from that loss against one of the greatest lighter-weight fighters in the history of the sport - Frankie Edgar. With a victory, Edgar will likely challenge the winner of Aldo-McGregor for the title at some point in 2016.
- Fresh off a freak injury victory over Charles Oliveira in August, Max Holloway will look to vault into the top five with a victory over the brick-fisted Jeremy Stephens at UFC 194. The almost impossibly powerful Stephens violently derailed the Dennis Bermudez hype train at UFC 189.
- Ricardo Lamas is set to welcome the Terminator known as Diego Sanchez back to the featherweight division at UFC Fight Night 78 in November.
