  • Robbie Lawler is set to defend his UFC strap against the Swiss Army knife of violence known as Carlos Condit at UFC 195 in January. Lawler successfully defended his title in a five-round thriller against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189, while Condit earned his shot with an absolute thrashing of Thiago Alves in May.
  • Looking to bounce back from his loss to Lawler, MacDonald has traded barbs with Hector Lombard in interviews recently, setting up a potential bout when Cuban mini-hulk eventually comes back from PED suspension in January.
  • A battle with the scales derailed Johny Hendricks' quest to recapture the welterweight title. Scheduled to face Tyron Woodley at UFC 192, Hendricks was forced to pull out after a disastrous weight cut caused him to be rushed to the hospital with kidney stones and an intestinal blockage.
  • It wasn't all bad news for Woodley, though, as he's now positioned to face the winner of Lawler-Condit at some point in the first quarter of 2016.
  • Do you like watching incredibly high-level grapplers do their best to twist each other into human pretzels? If you answered yes, you're gonna love Demian Maia vs. Gunnar Nelson. Maia and Nelson are set to square off at UFC 194 in December.
