- The best 185-pounders on the planet, UFC champion Chris Weidman and former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold are on a collision course. After months of jaw-jacking, the two will finally sling heavy leather at UFC 194 in December.
- A new No. 1 contender will also be crowned at UFC 194, when Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza squares off with Yoel Romero. The two were booked for bouts multiple times before, but injuries and illnesses derailed their proposed encounters.
- After consecutive losses to Rockhold and Romero, Lyoto Machida will try to rebuild his career in 2016. His first target: Michael Bisping. Machida expressed interest in facing Bisping at some point in the future, though the brash Brit recently suffered an injury, and was forced to withdraw from his bout with Robert Whittaker.
- Whittaker's new opponent is Uriah Hall, who burst into the top 10 with a spectacular TKO victory over Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 75 in September.
