DAY 6
Jones obliterates broad jump record
Connecticut cornerback Byron Jones just did something no draft prospect has ever done before: leap past the 12-foot mark in the broad jump.
He literally landed off the grid:
Jones broke the previous record in the event by eight inches. Absolutely ridiculous.
Waynes solidifies status with top 40 time among CBs
Showcasing some high-level speed and athletic ability with an impressive 4.31 40 time, Michigan State's Trae Waynes confirmed his status as the top overall cornerback in this class.
Waynes has long been considered a first-round talent, but his productive showing in front of scouts could see him selected somewhere within the top 10-15 picks of the draft this spring.
Collins stands atop weak safety class
It didn't take long for Alabama safety Landon Collins, the consensus top safety prospect in a very weak safety class class, to cement his draft stock.
Collins ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds - an unremarkable time, but good enough to prove he has the high-end speed needed to succeed as a pro. Collins has a chance to be the lone safety selected in the first round of the draft.
Rowe makes a name for himself
Utah safety Eric Rowe wasn't considered a top safety prospect heading into the combine, but he boosted his draft stock with a top-five performance in every event he participated in.
