Some of this year's most physical wide receivers didn't disappoint when they took to the bench press Friday afternoon. While the event doesn't directly translate to in-game strength, a successful showing can demonstrate a high-level work ethic and dedication to the weight room. Coates, White and Davis did just that, finishing with numbers well above their competition.

Other Notable Performances

  • Devin Funchess, Michigan - 17 reps
  • Dorial Green-Beckham, Oklahoma - 13 reps
  • Phillip Dorsett, Miami (FL) - 13 reps
  • Amari Cooper, Alabama - Did not lift

As much as the bench press can be a way for players to impress scouts, a small amount of reps - or even opting out of the event entirely - likely won't be used against players at this particular position. The wide receivers in this group will have the best opportunity to boost their draft stocks when they take part in on-field drills over the weekend.
