Braves sign veteran reliever Jason Frasor
The Atlanta Braves have signed free-agent reliever Jason Frasor for the remainder of the season.
Frasor was designated for assignment on July 6 by the Kansas City Royals, despite posting a 1.54 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings. That said, he's walked 15 batters, giving way to a bloated 1.67 WHIP.
The move from the Braves standpoint is likely a counter move to losing closer Jason Grilli, who tore his Achilles tendon while covering first base on a ground ball.

It's tough to imagine that Frasor, a 12-year veteran, wasn't heavily sought after upon getting released. The 37-year-old agreed to a $1.8-million deal in November to remain in Kansas City, after posting a 1.53 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 17 2/3 innings last season.
