Martinez overtakes Cueto in All-Star Final Vote balloting

Jeff Curry / USA TODAY Sports

There's been a major shakeup in the All-Star Game Final Vote standings.

St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez has dethroned Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto for the top spot in the National League after a dominant performance Thursday night versus the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas has led wire-to-wire in the American League since voting opened.

New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was taken off the AL ballot after being named as a replacement for injured Royals left fielder Alex Gordon.

Only the top vote-getters in each league will earn All-Star nods.

Fan voting ends Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
