Report: Jets' Vera-Tucker suffered torn triceps
New York Jets starting guard Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a torn triceps, which is expected to sideline him for the entire 2025 season, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Vera-Tucker reportedly suffered the injury during practice Tuesday but was seeking a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis and see if he'll need surgery. He previously tore his triceps in 2022, although that injury was to his opposite arm, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
A first-round pick in 2021, Vera-Tucker has developed into a crucial piece of the Jets' offensive line. However, he's been unable to shake the injury bug throughout his NFL career. His 2022 triceps tear limited him to seven games that season, while he played only five games in 2023 due to an Achilles injury. He bounced back to start 15 games last year.
The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
