Manchester City's affiliation with La Liga newcomer Girona grew stronger on Tuesday with Douglas Luiz, Aleix Garcia, and Marlos Moreno all joining the Catalonian club on loan.

Nineteen-year-old Luiz only switched to City from Vasco da Gama in mid-July for around £11 million, and now moves to his new employer's sister club until the end of the season.

Garcia and Moreno will also seek regular senior minutes in Spain's top tier.

Luiz shifts to City as a raw talent - he only appeared in 25 league outings for Vasco da Gama - but he's impressed at the Under-20 level for Brazil. The midfielder has shown fine vision in his scant club appearances, playing more key passes (15) than anyone aged 21 or under in the Brasileirao at the time of his transfer.

Garcia featured 10 times for Manchester City in the 2016-17 term - adding to his debut with the club in the FA Cup during the previous season - and is highly thought of by the Etihad Campus coaching staff.

Moreno, meanwhile, spent a temporary stint with Deportivo La Coruna last season but failed to make an impression. He moved to City from Atletico Nacional in the previous campaign after helping the Medellin giant win the 2016 Copa Libertadores.

City youngster Pablo Maffeo's respective loan to Girona was also confirmed on Monday.
