Manchester City's Pablo Maffeo joins Girona on loan for 3rd time
Pablo Maffeo will once again be showcasing his talent in Catalonia.
On Monday, Manchester City announced Maffeo will enjoy an extended stay at Girona FC. The Catalan right-back first joined the Spanish club on loan in January 2016, and returned for a second loan spell last season in which he made 14 Segunda Division appearances as promotion to La Liga was achieved.
Maffeo's third stint at Girona will be a season-long loan.

Maffeo, who joined City in 2013 at 16 years old and made his senior debut for the Citizens last year as the club beat Steaua Bucuresti 1-0 in the Champions League, took to Twitter after the announcement, writing: "Happy to be back!"

After City signed two right-backs in Kyle Walker and Danilo, Maffeo was likely deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium this season. His career in football began at RCD Espanyol, who he joined at six years old. His agent is Pere Guardiola, Pep Guardiola's brother with whom the Citizens boast close ties.
