Ducks fall to Blues despite another solid performance by Andersen
Frederik Andersen did absolutely everything he could, but it just wasn't enough to get the Anaheim Ducks back in the win column.
The St. Louis Blues handed the Ducks their fifth straight loss, getting by with a 2-1 victory on Thursday night. With the defeat, the Ducks' shocking record now sits at 1-7-2 through 10 games.
Andersen made 32 saves to keep his team in the game, highlighted by 14 stops in a third period that saw the Ducks get outshot 15-4.
The 26-year-old remains winless in eight games despite a 2.05 GAA and a .932 save percentage.
Colton Parayko scored the eventual game-winner midway through the third period on a fluky goal that bounced off the end boards, off Anderson, and in. Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for the Blues, tying the game in the second period with a beautiful one-timer on a 2-on-0 breakaway.
The Ducks jumped out to an early lead on a goal by Hampus Lindholm, but were ultimately stymied by the Blues, who improve to 7-2-1 on the season.
