The Buffalo Sabres did something on Sunday that they had not done in a very, very long time.
Sabres defenseman Nikita Zadorov scored a power-play goal in the second period of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, blasting home a one-timer on a 5-on-3 man advantage.

It was the first 5-on-3 goal scored by the Sabres since former Buffalo winger Thomas Vanek did so on March 23, 2013, according to the club's public relations staff.
That's a span of 694 days, or one year, 10 months and 23 days. It's about 999,000 minutes, to be exact.
Let the new streak begin.
