Eric Weddle regrets shaving his beard

Eric Weddle was known for two things while playing for the San Diego Chargers: his play and his beard.

Weddle ditched his illustrious facial hair in early February before signing with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, though, and he's already regretting the shave.

"I am regretting it by the second that I shaved (the beard)," Weddle told media members at his introductory press conference on Wednesday. "It was spur of the moment. I was working out one morning and I got done, and it was just everywhere.

"It was sweat and water and who knows - probably bugs in there. And I'm like, 'What am I doing? I look ridiculous right now.'"

The 31-year-old safety has had the beard for over three years and grew it in honor of his father, who had a similar beard as a young man.

By the sounds of it, there's a pretty good chance the signature facial hair will return. Weddle has yet to change his Twitter handle from @weddlesbeard and its been over six weeks since he used the social media site to share his new look.
