With Mario Chalmers being waived after a season-ending injury, the Memphis Grizzlies appear to have found someone to bolster their suddenly thin backcourt.

The Grizzlies are likely to sign Ray McCallum as the team's backup point guard, The Vertical's Shams Charania reports. Since McCallum was waived prior to March 1, he would be playoff-eligible for Memphis.

McCallum, the 36th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, has struggled to make an impact in his young career, averaging 5.9 points and 2.4 assists on 41.3 percent shooting in three seasons.

McCallum was waived by the San Antonio Spurs last month to make room for Andre Miller, and has recently had discussions with the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks following his release.

Besides Mike Conley, the only remaining point guard on Memphis' roster is Briante Weber, who was recently signed to a 10-day contract.
