Jeff Driskel blows away QB group in 40-yard dash as top prospects impress
It was the quarterbacks' turn Saturday to run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
While the drill is arguably the least important part of the combine for passers, the increased desire for mobility in the NFL means participants can still turn heads by putting in a quick time.
Of the three top quarterback prospects - Carson Wentz, Paxton Lynch, and Jared Goff - Wentz ran the fastest. However, Lynch and Goff still put in impressive times, with all three proving they possess solid mobility.
Jeff Driskel is expected to be a mid-round pick, but was the clear winner of the 40-yard dash, blowing away the field with a time of 4.56 seconds.
However, arguably the most important event was the injury to Cardale Jones, who pulled up after his 40-yard dash with an apparent hamstring issue and appears unlikely to participate in the rest of the combine.
