Jones sits out throwing drills after suffering injury during 40-yard dash
Cardale Jones' day of on-field drills at the NFL Scouting Combine came to an unexpected early end.
The Ohio State quarterback pulled up with an apparent hamstring injury at the end of his second 40-yard dash, telling Kimberly Jones of NFL Network that he was done for the day before eventually heading for the tunnel.
Having lost his starting job to J.T. Barrett during the 2015 season, Jones entered this week with more to gain than possibly any other quarterback prospect.
He'll now have to wait for his March 11 pro day to take part in throwing drills and demonstrate his highly touted arm talent.
Jones first established himself as a legitimate NFL prospect when he stepped into the starting lineup and helped Ohio State win a national championship in 2014.
