Bargain Plays - Make Your Markstrom

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Here are the top sleeper picks for Monday, February 15:

G Jacob Markstrom, Canucks (vs. Wild)

Canucks backup netminder Markstrom hasn't lost in regulation since January 4, posting a 5-0-1 record and allowing just two goals a game in that span. He hasn't played often since Ryan Miller's return but has been declared as the starter against the Wild.

After a strong start to the season, Minnesota's offense has fallen to 21st in the league, scoring just 2.45 goals per game. Their 1-7-2 record in their last 10 games is the worse in the NHL. Markstrom has the perfect combination of an affordable salary relative to other goalies and a great matchup on home ice.

D Brian Campbell, Panthers (vs. Penguins)

Campbell has aged gracefully and still shows flashes of the talent that made him an All-Star once upon a time in Buffalo. His current hot stretch has seen his playing time increase. He has been the featured blueliner on 45% of the Panthers' power play units over their last 10 games, leapfrogging Aaron Ekblad in the pecking order.

He has converted on those opportunities, recording three goals and five assists over that 10-game period. Though Marc-Andre Fleury is a big name, he hasn't backed it up with great goaltending lately. He's susceptible to Florida's top-10 offense.

W Anthony Duclair, Coyotes (vs. Canadiens)

Firmly entrenched on the Coyotes' top line alongside Martin Hanzal and Max Domi, Duclair's underlying stats indicate a player capable of even more production than the three goals and one assist he has tallied over his last six games.

He has averaged 2.75 shots on goal over his past eight games after averaging just over one shot in his first 46 games this season. On the PP, the Duclair, Hanzal and Domi trio has begun edging out veteran options, playing 50.6% of available PP minutes in their last three games. With this positive change in usage, Duclair will begin to see his point totals steadily rise.

A name at winger to avoid is Leafs' youngster Brendan Leipsic, who scored in his first NHL game on Saturday. With only nine minutes of ice-time in his debut, it's unclear what his role is moving forward. For now, his greatest value is a price point which truly sits at the salary floor.

C Mike Ribeiro, Predators (vs. Stars)

Ribeiro isn't a hot commodity on today's market but he's very affordable and has been playing well on the Predators' second-line. He has a goal and six assists in his last seven games, including two multi-point outings. As a low-cost, cash-game play, Ribeiro's salary will allow you to spend big at another position.
