Here are theScore's goaltender value rankings for Saturday, January 16. Note that these rankings exclude the three games starting prior to 7 p.m. EST.

Value Rankings

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Braden Holtby (WSH) at BUF 10
Brian Elliott (STL) vs. MTL 8
Jonas Hiller (CGY) at EDM 8

Though Holtby comes with the heaviest price tag, his play of late has been unmatched. A matchup against the lowly Buffalo offense makes a shutout a real possibility.

Elliott's value increases with a matchup against the Canadiens who are simply trying to tread water until Carey Price returns.

Hiller requires a leap of faith but his reduced price tag, matchup against the Oilers, and previous start, a shutout against Florida on Wednesday, could make him a fantastic GPP play.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Tuukka Rask (BOS) vs. TOR 7
Devan Dubnyk (MIN) at NSH 7
Calvin Pickard (COL) at CLB 6
Carter Hutton (NSH) vs. MIN 6
Antti Niemi (DAL) at SJ 6
Martin Jones (SJ) vs. DAL 5

Jones and Niemi square-off in a Western Conference matchup. Niemi gets the higher seeding thanks to the strong team in front of him but keep in mind that the Sharks have won four in a row.

Nothing to See Here
