Evander Kane says he isn't treating his return to Winnipeg differently from any other game.
"I play for the Buffalo Sabres now and I look at it as business as usual," Kane told reporters Saturday, according to The Buffalo News' Mike Harrington.
The Jets host the Sabres on Sunday afternoon at MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
Kane was traded to Buffalo last February in a seven-player deal that came eight days after a reported incident with his teammates.
"I'm going into it preparing as if we're playing any other team," the 24-year-old forward said. "We're on a six-game slide here so I'm looking for two points."
Kane played four seasons for the Jets, but he isn't sure what kind of reaction he'll get from fans in Winnipeg on Sunday.
"I don't know. I guess we'll all find out together," he said, according to Harrington.
Kane has eight goals and five assists in 31 games with Buffalo after missing the last two months of the 2014-15 campaign following shoulder surgery.
He hasn't registered a point during the Sabres' losing streak, and he's been held off the scoresheet in 12 of his last 15 contests.
