Lightning's Bishop still recovering from torn groin

Ben Bishop is slowly but surely getting healthy.

The Tampa Bay Lightning goalie admitted Tuesday he still hasn't fully recovered from a torn groin suffered during the Stanley Cup Final in June, but expects to be ready to go come training camp.

"I'm still getting there, to be honest," Bishop said, according to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times. "It's going to come back pretty quick."

With backup Andrei Vasilevskiy out of the lineup due to a blood clot, the Lightning reportedly extended a camp invite to veteran Ray Emery.

Bishop, who appeared in 62 games last season and 63 games the season before, isn't averse to the heavy workload, and indicated he'll be back in top form come opening night.

"I'm pretty used to (a large workload)," he said. "I would play every game, that's never been one of my things where I'm asking for a night off."

Bishop posted a record of 40-13-5 last season, boasting a save percentage of .916.
