Carlos Bacca lands in Milan, urges Zlatan Ibrahimovic to do the same

Carlos Bacca spared no time telling reporters in Milan who he wants to play beside at his new club.

The Colombian striker was asked about Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and made no secret of his desire to play side-by-side with soccer's self-appointed king.

"It would be brilliant to play with players of the highest calibre such as Ibra," Bacca told reporters upon arriving at Milan Malpensa Airport. "He's a player who has scored so many goals. I don't know what will happen, but if he came he could help us."

Ibrahimovic has been linked back to Milan for some time, but denied a move back in June. Bacca is not the first of Milan's new signings to try and persuade the Swedish striker to return. Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano also spurred the move on, saying "It would be nice to play alongside two great player(s) such as Bacca and Ibra."

Bacca is the latest signing for Milan, joining the struggling Italian club after a successful season in Sevilla last year. Last season, Bacca scored 20 goals in 37 games in La Liga. He also scored seven goals in the Europa League, two in the final as he guided Sevilla to a 3-2 victory and a second consecutive title.

The 28-year-old forward says he is "happy and proud" to be in Milan, with the added perk of having his favourite number on his back once more. Bacca claimed the number 70 shirt for Milan, a number that was prohibited in Spain, where shirts are capped off at 25.

It's just extra motivation for Bacca, in the end.

"We will do our best for Milan," Bacca said. "I want to score a lot of goals for Milan and take Milan back to the top. The first objective is to qualify for the Champions League and get back fighting again for the Scudetto.

"I chose Milan for their ambitious project and because they are a great club, the biggest club in Italy," Bacca continued. "I've always had the ambition of playing at a club like Milan."
