Report: Bay Area planning parade for Warriors; Papa Roach dedicates a song to them

With the Golden State Warriors still 11 wins away from a championship, the parade route is already being planned.

It's tough to fault fans and city officials for thinking that way after a 67-win season and a first-round sweep, but there's sure to be some concern that talk of parade specifics so early is bad karma.

That's what they're doing in the Bay Area. Already.

Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf has already spoken with San Francisco mayor Ed Lee about what a potential Warriors celebration would look like, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle. The Warriors play in Oakland, and it's possible the team could start a parade there and then travel across San Francisco Bay by barge.

The far bigger question for a potential championship celebration emerged Wednesday, though, when Papa Roach - the rock band from Vacaville, Cali., about two-and-a-half hours from Oakland - released a tribute to the team. That puts them in direct competition with rapper E-40, from Vallejo, Cali. - just half-an-hour away - who released an anthem for the team a week ago.

You be the judge:

Again, it's all a little early here in the second round of the playoffs, which means there's still time for other Oakland-area artists to submit their entries for the parade's eventual theme song.
