Scott Hannan's night took an unfortunate turn.
After scoring a rare goal during the first period of Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche, the veteran defenseman took a puck to the face off a backhand clearing attempt from San Jose Sharks teammate Brent Burns.

Hannan left the ice and went directly to the locker room, covering a seemingly bleeding eye area.
A scary moment to be sure, and one that will likely spark a conversation about mandatory visors in hockey.
