Dodgers officially trade Matt Kemp to Padres in 5-player deal
Some potentially troubling physical exam results will not hold up a trade between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Padres that will send Matt Kemp to San Diego.
The Dodgers officially acquire Yasmani Grandal, Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin from @Padres for Matt Kemp, Tim Federowicz & cash considerations.

Kemp's physical revealed severe arthritis in both hips, prompting the Padres to ask the Dodgers to increase their financial contribution in the deal. Los Angeles refused and won't need to give up any more in the trade. The Dodgers were reportedly (see stack below) willing to absorb $32 million of the $107 million owed to Kemp over the next five seasons.
The Padres also reportedly pulled off another trade with the Oakland Athletics on Thursday, acquiring catcher Derek Norris for a pair of pitchers.
