After failing to advance past the National League Division Series yet again in October, the Washington Nationals are trying to improve their ball club to help them end the dreaded curse of an early postseason exit, and they have the approval of their franchise player.

After ESPN's Jim Bowden reported the Nationals were interested in acquiring free-agent catcher Matt Wieters and reliever Greg Holland, Bryce Harper took to social media to give his blessing:

Both Wieters and Holland have been linked to several teams, including the Nationals, throughout the offseason. Holland is reportedly seeking a 2-year deal with 1-year opt-out, while Wieters' agent Scott Boras didn't anticipate his client signing a new deal until January.

Wieters appeared in 124 games for the Baltimore Orioles last season, hitting .243/.302/.409 with 17 home runs and 66 RBIs.

Holland missed the entire 2016 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He saved 145 games for the Kansas City Royals from 2011-15.

General manager Mike Rizzo already dealt a big chunk of the team's future to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for outfielder Adam Eaton, acquired catcher Derek Norris, and traded infielder Danny Espinosa to the Los Angeles Angels to free up the shortstop position for rising superstar Trea Turner.

Eaton followed Harper's lead, later tweeting in favor of the Nationals signing Wieters and Holland:
