Did Syracuse really lose by 33 points at home to St. John's?

"We've got everything. We've got depth. We've got shooters. We've got size. This is the best team we've had in a long time." - Jim Boeheim, Sept. 9

Just over three months after gushing about his Syracuse team to ESPN's Andy Katz, Jim Boeheim and the Orange got beat 93-60 at home by St. John's.

The same St. John's that entered the contest as a 13-point underdog, with its five wins this season coming over teams with a combined 22-39 record.

The same St. John's that lost by seven points at home to a 3-10 Delaware State squad, and is more than 100 spots behind Syracuse in Ken Pomeroy's rankings.

Here are three numbers to take away from Wednesday's incredible loss:

33

The 33-point margin is the worst home loss in Syracuse basketball history. Even on the road, the Orange have only lost by more points twice during Boeheim's 40-plus years as head coach. The Red Storm took a 10-point lead to the locker room at halftime, before blowing Syracuse off the court with a 54-31 scoreline in the second half.

93

St. John's 93 points are the most Syracuse have allowed since North Carolina hit that mark on Jan. 26, 2015. As mentioned above, the Red Storm aren't exactly a powerhouse in the college basketball world these days, as they've hit the 93-point mark against major conference competition just twice since 2010.

41-16

St. John's hit on 41 percent of its 3-pointers, while Syracuse made just four attempts from beyond the arc. With the trademark zone that the Orange employ, a team making more than 40 percent of its 3-pointers is going to be an issue.
