When the Boston Red Sox traded Travis Shaw to the Milwaukee Brewers as part of a package to acquire relief pitcher Tyler Thornburg, the organization made it clear to third baseman Pablo Sandoval they hadn't given up on him just yet.
Perhaps the organization had a change of heart after witnessing the Venezuelan's progress during offseason workouts, which has included drastic weight loss and better overall conditioning.
On Friday, Sandoval had one of his workouts filmed and posted on social media, including his tiresome routine and some classic workout music courtesy of Rocky Balboa.
Sandoval, who missed all but three games last season after undergoing shoulder surgery, was listed by MLB.com at 255 pounds at season's end.
He's still owed $54.8 million over the next three seasons.
