American soccer fans rejoice on Twitter as Klinsmann gets sacked
U.S. Soccer made an announcement that many deemed long overdue on Monday, as Jurgen Klinsmann was fired as USMNT manager, while also being relieved of his duties as the program's technical director.

Throngs of American fans, who have grown increasingly disillusioned with the German coach's failures on the pitch and consistent derision that he aimed at them off it, reacted to the announcement in a predictable manner.
The right decision
For far too long there has been plenty of discontent within #USMNT camp. Jurgen Klinsmann's firing signals a clean sweep. Inevitable.

By popular request, I've updated this list. The logic behind calling Klinsmann the worst #USMNT coach in the modern era. Read it and weep: pic.twitter.com/NWLW4qNAxl

I was higher on Kinsmann for longer than most. But, yeah, it's well past time.

Remember: Klinsmann's record vs. Top 20 teams is the worst in modern #USMNT history, by far pic.twitter.com/q3msC44ZSS

The payout
Including a buyout, US Soccer's 5-year investment in Jurgen Klinsmann will cost more than $20 million.

For ease of take-production, I propose the US hires Bruce Arena but only on the condition he legally changes his name to "The Talent Pool."

The future
Is US Soccer in such a position that the only real candidates for top men's job is a) guy you just fired, and b) guy you fired before that?

Suspect Bruce Arena will lead USMNT through World Cup 2018, with Tab Ramos a leading candidate to take over post-2018.
