Martin Brodeur is considering strapping on the pads on New Year's Eve.
The legendary goaltender told NHL.com's Mike Morreale that he might be playing for the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic alumni game against the Chicago Blackhawks at Busch Stadium.
The Blues' assistant general manager played seven games for St. Louis to conclude his career after more than 20 years with the New Jersey Devils.
Brodeur would play alongside Brett Hull, Al MacInnis, Bernie Federko, and Chris Pronger in the alumni game, for which the full rosters have yet to be announced.
The current Blues and Blackhawks will meet in the Winter Classic on Jan. 2.
