Yankees, Rivera honor Ortiz's final game in New York
It only made sense for the New York Yankees to reach into the legends vault to celebrate David Ortiz.
In a classy move for the Boston Red Sox slugger's final game at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, the Yankees had legendary closer Mariano Rivera gift the 40-year-old a giant oil painting of Ortiz tipping his hat farewell at the Bronx Bombers' home turf.

The oil painting wasn't Ortiz's only gift for the night, though. New York also gifted the departing slugger a leather-bound book filled with letters from the Yankees.
To top off the ceremony, the Yankees also played "Sweet Caroline" - a longtime classic at Fenway Park - in the background as Ortiz walked off the field.
