Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Adam Frazier (PIT) | vs. WAS | 9 |
Brian Dozier (MIN) | vs. SEA | 9 |
Howie Kendrick (LAD) | vs. COL | 8 |
Frazier is a great buy-low alternative to the big names at second base, and his fantasy outlook relative to his DFS price is sky high. He's hitting .281 with a .378 OBP atop the Pirates' order and draws a matchup against the inconsistent Nationals SP Joe Ross. Roster Frazier in any format and use the salary savings to locate high-floor options at other positions.
At an affordable price point that makes him accessible in any lineup, Kendrick should be a target in cash games. He's hitting .290 with a .353 OBP over his last 10 games. The only issue is that he's gone hitless in five of those games -- though three were pinch-hit appearances. If he makes the starting lineup, expect him to return solid value.

Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Joey Wendle (OAK) | vs. TEX | 6 |
Chris Coghlan (CHC) | vs. STL | 6 |
Dee Gordon (MIA) | vs. ATL | 5 |
Wendle continues to shine in his call-up. Over his last 10 games, the Athletics' infielder has slashed .308/.241/.385 and his spot atop the order affords him plenty of opportunities to score runs. He has a tough task ahead of him against Rangers ace Yu Darvish, which prevents him from joining the Top Options, but he still carries tournament potential. A pair of hits returns value for Wendle.

Nothing to See Here
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Starlin Castro (NYY) | at TOR | 3 |
Kolten Wong (STL) | at CHC | 2 |
Joe Panik (SF) | at SD | 1 |
Panik isn't particularly adept at hitting against RHPs, which doesn't bode well for his fantasy owners as he's hitting just .074 (2-for-27) over his last 10 games to begin with. He gets a massive raise in salary, presumably because Padres SP Jarred Cosart has been ineffective too, but rostering Panik would be akin to setting your virtual DFS dollars on fire.
