Here are theScore's catcher value rankings for Saturday, September 17 (all stats exclude Friday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Mike Zunino (SEA) vs. HOU 8
Russell Martin (TOR) at LAA 8
Buster Posey (SF) vs. STL 8

While his average has fallen to .224, Zunino has homered 11 times in 125 at-bats, with eight long balls at Safeco Field. Houston's Mike Fiers allows 1.49 home runs per nine innings, and gave up seven earned runs in his last start, against the Cubs.

Martin is carrying Toronto's offense, with home runs in each of his last two games, and 12 over 35 games in August and September.

A somewhat underpriced Posey is usually worth rostering, especially since he has five multi-hit outings in his last eight games.

Mid-Tier Targets

Name Opponent Value
Stephen Vogt (OAK) at TEX 7
Yasmani Grandal (LAD) at ARI 7
Gary Sanchez (NYY) at BOS 6

Vogt comes cheaply despite having had three multi-hit games in his last five, with a home run and five RBIs on Thursday. He's a solid 5-for-13 lifetime against Texas ace Yu Darvish, as well.

Sanchez sees his price take a hit in a matchup with David Price, but he may still be worthy of a gamble. The rookie has homered three times in his last seven games.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
J.T. Realmuto (MIA) at PHI 4
Nick Hundley (COL) vs. SD 3
Jonathan Lucroy (TEX) vs. OAK 3

Hundley has surprisingly been a more productive hitter away from home. He holds a .244 average with four home runs at Coors Field, with a .269 average and six home runs on the road in a nearly equal number of at-bats. He's not worth the automatic price bump that comes with playing in Colorado.
