Report: Odor rejected Rangers' extension offer

The Texas Rangers and second baseman Rougned Odor are interested in extending their relationship, but talks to keep the Venezuelan around the Lone Star State have been put on hold after the two sides couldn't agree on a new deal.
Texas offered Odor a deal similar to that of Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco, one worth about $35 million over six years with two option years, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports Network.
Heyman writes Odor and his agent - Beverly Hills Sports Council - were not interested in the two team option years and made a counteroffer to the Rangers, which shows Odor is interested in playing for Texas.
The controversial 22-year-old, who punched Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista in the face earlier this season and received a seven-game suspension, is arbitration eligible in 2018 and could hit free agency for the first time in 2021.
Odor was signed as an international free agent in 2011 and has already tied his career high home-run total (16) to go along with 18 doubles and 46 RBIs.
