Odor reinstated following 7-game suspension
He's back.
The Texas Rangers reinstated Rougned Odor on Saturday after he served his seven-game ban for punching Jose Bautista in the face.
Odor will bat fifth in the order as the Rangers take on the Seattle Mariners, bumping Jurickson Profar from his spot in the field but keeping him in the designated hitter's role.
The reason for that is because in Odor's absence, the Rangers have gone 5-2, while Profar stated his case to stay in the bigs. In a short seven-game stint, the former top prospect is batting .364/.364/.636 with two homers, one triple, one double, and nine runs scored.
Manager Jeff Banister failed to put a timetable on how long Profar will remain with the club, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Stefan Stevenson.
Odor had the $5,000 fine for his role in the melee covered by some of his veteran teammates.
