Hirving Lozano is aware of reports linking him to Manchester United, but says a contract from Stretford remains a pipe dream for him.

The assertions that the Mexico international was set for England apparently came from the 20-year-old's father-in-law, who said that a deal would be completed after Rio 2016. The Pachuca winger refutes these claims, despite wanting them to be true.

"It's nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact," Lozano told Record via ESPN FC.

"I don't know anything about United's interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don't know anything about it at this stage."

Lozano only made his international bow in February, but now has seven Mexico caps to his name. His unique brand of play on the left flank - repeatedly cutting in onto his right foot to ping shots at goal - won him plaudits at the club level, but he has performed admirably when often utilised on the right for his country. He scored a goal in his second appearance against Canada.

"I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future," Lozano added.

Under new manager Jose Mourinho, United has already been busy in the summer transfer market. Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined on a free transfer, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan cost around £30 million each and, if reports are to be believed, the Red Devils are aggressively pursuing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
