Watch: Puig embraces Powerade bath after bizarre walk-off

It's been a long time coming for Yasiel Puig.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder's little-league homer - which went underneath Michael A. Taylor's glove for a three-base error that gave his team a shocking 4-3 win - was his first walk-off hit in more than a year, and it came just two games after he returned from the disabled list. So when Justin Turner came around with the obligatory Powerade shower, Puig was more than happy to just soak in the moment.

"Obviously I feel very good being able to do that (come off the DL and win the game), but the bath also feels very good because it's been about a year-and-a-half since they've been able to do that to me," Puig told SportsNet LA's Alanna Rizzo moments after being drenched.

Coming off his hamstring injury, the 25-year-old had to push himself to round the bases and score after Taylor's gaffe, while also flying around third base, arms akimbo, and going right through coach Chris Woodward's stop sign.

"I didn't see (the stop sign). I was listening to my hamstring and I was trying to figure out how far it could go," Puig told reporters of his dash and subsequent belly-flop slide across home plate. "If it exploded there, that's what was going to happen, but I was able to make it home."

Fortunately for both Puig and the Dodgers, it seems his legs are no worse for wear following the mad dash.

"Thank God I was able to do that," he told Rizzo. "My legs feel just fine."
