Report: Embiid cleared to scrimmage
It would appear to be a good-news day for the Philadelphia 76ers.
In addition to draft reports, center Joel Embiid has been cleared for light scrimmages in five-on-five situations, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
It's a significant development for the 22-year-old Embiid. The No. 3 pick in the 2014 draft has yet to play an NBA game due to severe foot injuries and accompanying surgeries. The Cameroonian 7-footer has been limited to non-contact practices, where sources say he's looked impressive recently.
Embiid is expected to travel to Las Vegas next month for NBA Summer League, but will not play for the Sixers' entry, reports Wojnarowski.
In his lone season of NCAA basketball at Kansas, Embiid averaged 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds on 62.6 percent shooting in 28 games.
