Ex-MLB manager McClendon tosses umps after ejection

Lloyd McClendon may be managing in Triple-A these days, but his ejections are still big-league material.

The former Pittsburgh Pirates and Seattle Mariners manager is now piloting the Toledo Mud Hens, and he clearly doesn't think highly of International League umpiring. Trouble started on Sunday when Mud Hens starter Thad Weber exchanged words with home-plate umpire Eric Gillam and was tossed moments after being lifted by McClendon. The skipper obviously had a similar beef with Gillam and continued the argument until he was given the hook as well.

McClendon went berserk from there, throwing his sunglasses, pointing fingers, kicking dirt on home plate, and even trying to eject the umpires himself.

It was a classic throwback ejection from the 57-year-old, though it wasn't nearly enough to top his epic 2001 meltdown on the list of great Lloyd McClendon ejections.
