Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Joe Mauer (MIN) | vs. MIA | 10 |
Jose Abreu (CWS) | vs. WAS | 9 |
Mark Reynolds (COL) | vs. PIT | 8 |
Edwin Encarnacion (TOR) | vs. BAL | 8 |
Ryan Zimmerman (WAS) | at CWS | 8 |
Mike Napoli (CLE) | at SEA | 8 |
James Loney (NYM) | at MIL | 8 |
Dae-Ho Lee (SEA) | vs. CLE | 8 |
Mauer has always excelled at hitting righties, putting up a .321 batting average and .874 OPS against RHPs at home for his career. While he's fallen off from his MVP-peak, he's still a very productive hitter and is having one of his best seasons in years. He has a great floor for cash games without breaking the bank.
Wait to see if Lee gets the start at first base for the Mariners. Teammate Adam Lind manned first base on Wednesday but both have been hitting well of late. Lee also brings the advantage of a microscopic price tag despite posting an OBP of .438 over his past 10 games; he can be deployed as both a bargain option in cash games or a flier in tournaments because of his home run power.

Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Joey Votto (CIN) | vs. STL | 7 |
Albert Pujols (LAA) | at NYY | 7 |
Adam Lind (SEA) | vs. CLE | 7 |
Pedro Alvarez (BAL) | at TOR | 6 |
Justin Smoak (TOR) | vs. BAL | 6 |
Carlos Santana (CLE) | at SEA | 6 |
Alex Rodriguez (NYY) | vs. LAA | 5 |
Justin Bour (MIA) | at MIN | 5 |
Chris Carter (MIL) | vs. NYM | 5 |
Byung Ho Park (MIN) | vs. MIA | 4 |
John Jaso (PIT) | at COL | 4 |
Votto has shed his early-season "dud" tag in the wake of hitting four homers and five doubles over his past 10 games while posting his characteristically-high on-base numbers. He's still hitting just .225 on the season, so while history says he's likely to be one of the best hitters in baseball over the rest of season, Votto-matic needs to prove he's completely back on track.

Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Chris Davis (BAL) | at TOR | 3 |
Prince Fielder (TEX) | vs. HOU | 3 |
C.J. Cron (LAA) | at NYY | 3 |
Mitch Moreland (TEX) | vs. HOU | 2 |
Matt Adams (STL) | at CIN | 2 |
Tyler White (HOU) | at TEX | 1 |
Davis didn't make it into the Orioles' lineup card on Wednesday because of a thumb injury. While he does have two homers in his last 10 games, he only has one other extra-base hit -- a double. Because Davis' fantasy value is tied so closely to his power, he's going to struggle tremendously if he's not hitting for solid average. He's managed just a .125 average since May 29. Stay away.
