After Kansas City Royals right-hander Yordano Ventura let his emotions get the best of him yet again on Wednesday, Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles is fed up with the young hurler, and thinks he may need an attitude adjustment.

Ventura, who has a reputation for instigating brawls, lived up to his modus operandi Wednesday when he beaned Manny Machado with a 99 mph fastball, starting a fight and clearing the two teams' benches. Jones spoke about the mental state of Ventura after the contest.

"I knew it was going to happen," Jones told reporters. "The guy has electric stuff and the talent is all there, but between the ears, there is a circuit board off balance. I don't get it. I don't get it."

Jones also spoke up about Ventura being compared to Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, who also had a lively arm for a pitcher of smaller stature.

"He wants to be Pedro Martinez. Cool, be Pedro Martinez," Jones said. "Go out there and have a damn sub-2.00 (ERA) like Pedro Martinez. Don't go out there to hurt somebody. That is what Pedro didn't do."

Both Ventura and Machado are likely to serve suspensions for the altercation, which is becoming an annual occasion for the 25-year-old who's already stirred up similar events with the Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, and Los Angeles Angels.
