Here are theScore's shortstop value rankings for Monday, May 30 (all stats exclude Sunday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Francisco Lindor (CLE) vs. TEX 9
Manny Machado (BAL) vs. BOS 8
Corey Seager (LAD) at CHC 8
Eduardo Nunez (MIN) at OAK 8
Xander Bogaerts (BOS) at BAL 8

The switch-hitting Lindor has absolutely crushed left-handed pitching, and he's shown more power of late. It all sets up well with a matchup against Rangers LHP Derek Holland in Texas. Seager hasn't quite lived up to the expectations of his brief 2015 offering, but he came into Sunday with two hits in each of his past two games.

Bogaerts is as steady as they come, but he lacks significant upside against righties.

Mid-Tier Targets

Name Opponent Value
Sean Rodriguez (PIT) at MIA 7
Freddy Galvis (PHI) vs. WAS 7
Aledmys Diaz (STL) at MIL 6
Elvis Andrus (TEX) at CLE 6
Addison Russell (CHC) vs. LAD 6

Galvis is on an impressive streak, slashing .306/.342/.472 over his past 10 games. Few owners are willing to pay attention due to the crest on the front of his jersey. Diaz continues his slow descent to Earth. He's hitting just .146 over his past 10 games, but he did hit a home run Thursday.

Name Opponent Value
Asdrubal Cabrera (NYM) vs. CWS 5
Jonathan Villar (MIL) vs. STL 5
Didi Gregorius (NYY) at TOR 5
Alcides Escobar (KC) vs. TB 5
Adeiny Hechavarria (MIA) vs. PIT 5
Brandon Crawford (SF) at ATL 4
Jordy Mercer (PIT) at MIA 4
Marcus Semien (OAK) vs. MIN 4
Jose Iglesias (DET) at LAA 4
Eduardo Escobar (MIN) at OAK 4

The switch-hitting Cabrera favors left-handed pitching, but he'll face one of the league's best in White Sox LHP Jose Quintana. Villar has stolen the bulk of his bases against right-handed pitchers, but he's been caught five times, as opposed to one time caught stealing by a lefty. Pair Cardinals RHP Carlos Martinez with C Yadier Molina, and he's likely to think twice before running.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Trevor Story (COL) vs. CIN 3
Carlos Correa (HOU) at ARI 3
Brad Miller (TB) at KC 3
Zack Cozart (CIN) at COL 2
Jimmy Rollins (CWS) at NYM 2

Story's salary soars at home, despite the fact the majority of his offensive production has come on the road. Correa has been mired in a lengthy slump, slashing just .143/.143/.167 over his past 10 games. He's well worth fading, even against inexperienced Diamondbacks LHP Edwin Escobar.
