Illinois dismisses Kendrick Nunn

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Illinois has dismissed guard Kendrick Nunn two months after he was suspended indefinitely for a domestic battery incident, the school announced.

The Fighting Illini originally suspended Nunn in mid-March after he was arrested and charged with domestic battery following an incident in a woman's apartment.

Nunn later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery, which carried a sentence of 18 months of unsupervised probation and 100 hours of community service. Completion of those terms would lead to the misdemeanor charge being wiped from his record.

The 6-foot-3 guard was Illinois' second-leading scorer last season with 15.5 points per game, while adding five rebounds and 1.5 steals.
