Report: Knicks to hire Hornacek as head coach

The New York Knicks will hire Jeff Hornacek to be their new head coach, according to multiple sources.
The former Phoenix Suns head coach reportedly interviewed with the Knicks earlier in the week. Hornacek had become a hot candidate over the last couple weeks, reportedly drawing interest from the Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Memphis Grizzlies.
While Phil Jackson and the Knicks have reportedly decided on Hornacek, however, both the New York Daily News' Frank Isola and the Wall Street Journal's Chris Herring report that no deal between the parties has officially been struck.
Hornacek spent two-and-a-half seasons as the Suns bench boss, going 101-112 during his tenure. The 52-year-old quickly fell out of favor with Suns management in less than two seasons after finishing second in Coach of the Year voting, leading to his dismissal in February.
His landing with the Knicks is somewhat of a surprise given that Hornacek's offensive philosophy doesn't seem to jive with Jackson's commitment to the triangle. It was also widely expected that interim coach Kurt Rambis, a Jackson coaching disciple, would take over the job on a full-time basis.
