Kurt Rambis has yet to be named the New York Knicks' full-time head coach, but the team appears to be operating as if it's only a matter of time.

Citing league sources, ESPN's Ian Begley reports that Rambis is in Chicago for this week's draft combine, alongside general manager Steve Mills and other members of the Knicks' front office.

Aside from Rambis, who took over the job on an interim basis when the Knicks fired Derek Fisher in February, Frank Vogel and David Blatt have been linked to the New York job, with the latter being the reported preferred remaining candidate of Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks went 9-19 under Rambis, who owns a career coaching record of 65-164 through stops in Los Angeles (Lakers), Minnesota, and New York.

Knicks president Phil Jackson has faced scrutiny over the last week for taking a vacation in the midst of what was supposed to be a high-profile coaching search, with names like Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks long off the board.
