Leicester 3 points away from historic title after Tottenham's surprising draw

Three points. That's all that stands between Leicester City and an unprecedented Premier League title.

Tottenham, the title challenger that had long matched the Foxes step-for-step, finally blinked on Monday, as Spurs stumbled to a 1-1 draw with lowly West Brom. By virtue of that result, Leicester will head into Sunday's contest against Manchester United knowing that a victory - at Old Trafford, of all places - will be enough to secure the crown and ensure a happy ending to the Cinderella story that has gripped the football world.

Tottenham appeared to be in complete control of Monday's match at White Hart Lane, but a 73rd-minute header from Craig Dawson - after he put the ball in his own net to open the scoring in the first half - pegged back Mauricio Pochettino's men, and leaves Leicester with one hand on the title.

Claudio Ranieri's side now holds a seven-point lead over the north London club with just three matches remaining on the campaign, and one victory will be enough to deliver Leicester's first Premier League crown in its 132-year history.

Should the improbable achievement be reached, however, Leicester will need to do so without the services of 22-goal star Jamie Vardy. The sinewy English striker has reportedly been hit with an additional one-match ban for his outburst against West Ham earlier this month, a ruling that would see him watch the potential title coronation from the stands.
