NBA Daily Fantasy Dose: Meet the Celtics' Swedish Good Luck Charm

Mark L. Baer / USA TODAY Sports

Here's a look at the NBA daily fantasy picture for Sunday's four-game playoff slate:

Bargain Plays

  • PF Jonas Jerebko, Celtics (vs. Hawks): Jerebko received a surprise start Friday in hopes of injecting some more shooting into the Celtics' lineup, and the Swede delivered, racking up 11 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, despite hitting just one of his four 3-pointers. His DFS price has subsequently jumped, but he's still cheap enough to be considered a bargain. If Jerebko sees in the neighborhood of the 37 minutes he received in Game 3, another impressive stat line could be in the cards.
  • PG Dennis Schroder, Hawks (at Celtics): As Atlanta's sixth man, Schroder is capable of pouring in points off the bench; he had 20 in just 22 minutes during Game 3's loss. The 22-year-old German averaged 11 points and 4.4 assists in 20.3 minutes per game during the season, and his price is low enough that a similar return would offer significant fantasy value. As well, Schroder may play with a chip on his shoulder after being on the receiving end of a slap from Boston's Isaiah Thomas during Game 3. Thomas wasn't suspended, but Schroder may seek some revenge on the court, hopefully through his play.

Contrarian Options

  • SF Matt Barnes, Grizzlies (vs. Spurs): Barnes led a valiant effort for the undermanned Grizzlies Friday that ultimately fell short late in the fourth quarter. Still, from a fantasy perspective, Barnes had a great game, playing 42 minutes and contributing 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals. That type of output can't necessarily be expected again, but Barnes has a versatile enough game and a strong enough will to lead the charge for Memphis despite a 3-0 series deficit.
  • SF Jae Crowder, Celtics (vs. Hawks): Despite incredibly poor shooting (2-for-20) from the field over the past two games, Crowder managed to contribute 15 rebounds, seven steals and six assists in that stretch. If he can convert just a few of the 3-pointers he's been missing (1-for-11 from long range in those two games), his reliable secondary contributions offer the potential for a stellar stat line.
