NBA won't suspend Celtics' Thomas for altercation with Schroder

The NBA will not suspend Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas for his altercation with Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder in Game 3. However, Thomas was retroactively assessed a flagrant-1 foul.
Thomas took a swipe at Schroder's head during the first quarter of Friday's contest. Schroder later retaliated, and the two were given technical fouls.
"I didn't mean to hit him in the head," Thomas told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore. "He got mad. He was talking but it's playoff basketball. That’s what it's about. I'm not going to back down from anybody. And he knows that."
While Thomas downplayed the incident, Schroder wasn't as forgiving.
"I’m not going to let nobody slap me in my face," Schroder said following the incident. "I told (Thomas) that. If you want to play like that, we’ll play like that. I was mad."
