Report: Cavs' Love back on court in 7-10 days; should be ready for training camp
Cleveland Cavaliers fans will be happy to hear that Kevin Love - who missed all but four games of the team's postseason run to the NBA Finals with a dislocated shoulder - is nearing his return to on-court activity.
Love will be back on the hardwood in another 7-10 days, and will surely be ready to go when training camp begins next month, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
It's unknown whether the three-time All-Star will be able to participate in full-contact basketball right away, but it's still a good sign for his recovery that he'll be out there at all.
The injury in question occurred during the closeout game in the opening round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics, with Love getting his left shoulder tangled with Canadian big man Kelly Olynyk.
Love spent a majority of the 2014-15 season adjusting to being the third wheel on a team featuring LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, with his numbers taking a significant dive from his days as the top dog with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 26-year-old averaged his lowest numbers since 2009-10, putting up 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game.
He was recently given one of 34 invites to appear in Las Vegas for Team USA's basketball minicamp. Although Love attended the minicamp in Sin City as a prerequisite for being considered to play for the team, it wasn't mandatory for him to participate. Love had previously won a gold medal in 2010 at the FIBA World Championship in Turkey, as well as the London 2012 Olympic Games.
