Steph Curry back from 1-game absence Monday

The collective sigh of relief from Golden State Warriors fans is loud enough that Steph Curry probably heard it in D.C.

Curry will return to the lineup against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday following a one-game absence due to a sore right foot.

The MVP candidate originally tweaked the foot on Friday when battling for a rebound, and when he experienced discomfort on Sunday, the team opted to sit him out for a game. Curry was considered day-to-day initially, later called questionable and then upgraded to probable earlier Tuesday, with the Splash Brother himself downplaying any concerns.

The Warriors struggled without Curry on Sunday, totaling just 19 assists in a loss, their third-lowest total of the season. That's hardly surprising since the team has been an obscene 17.4 points per 100 possessions better with Curry on the floor than off of it this season, one of the most extreme differences in the NBA.

In 52 games, Curry is averaging 23.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.9 assists and a league-high 2.2 steals while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor, 40 percent on threes and 90.2 percent from the free-throw line.

In terrifying news for opponents, his outside shooting has been heating up of late - as it's wont to do - with Curry hitting 43.3 percent of his triples in his past nine games.

The foot injury should only be a minor concern moving forward. While Curry has a reputation as being somewhat fragile, he's missed more than eight games in a season just once in his six-year career and missed just a single game in his three-year college career.
